Paul, I’m sorry to ask this question on your personal blog, but I don’t know who to turn to for this. I have tried unsuccessfully to communicate to whoever manages the Contempt Theme at Vault9 via the Vault9 website, blog and forum. It appears that they are no longer supported.

I publish the WordPress.com site: http://gulfcoastblacksmith.com which uses the Contempt Theme. That is, the version of the Contempt theme that is shared by all other WordPress.com sites (vs. the customizable Contempt theme used by WordPress.org users).

WordPress.com has begun modifying their shared themes to support more user-friendly navigation between images in an embedded WordPress image gallery. I am wondering when that functionality will be added to the Contempt Theme.

Here’s how it works. When a user clicks on an thumbnail image in a WordPress gallery, WordPress.com displays that image on a standalone page. The new functionality causes the Next image and the Previous image (or a Next button and a Previous button) on the same page so the user can easily move between images. Otherwise the user must redisplay the entire gallery just to select the next/previous image.

WordPress.com has added this functionality to its default Kubric theme and has begun adding it to all the other themes that it controls. Their support group advised me that the owner of the Contempt theme (you folks) would have to add this functionality to the Contempt theme as well. Can you tell me if anyone working on this? It really is a must-have feature for image navigation in a WordPress.com gallery. Do you know who can tell me when we might see this functionality in the Contempt theme on WordPress.com?

    Thanks!
