How facebook uses bit torrent, irc and karma to roll out new updates

The behemoth that is Facebook is probably ahead of its time when it comes to technology and an article I came across proves it. Quite an interesting read to see how they roll out updates making use of the bit torrent protocol to distribute to all their servers.
It’s interesting to note that Facebook have their own internal IRC network complete with bots which they use for collaboration when doing a roll out of a new update. And here we all thought IRC was a waste of time…
